Preparing for your a session
Soft lighting, blanket to cover/eye mask, quiet soothing music and/or essential oils is a great way to set the mood to relax and heal.
All you need do at your appointment time is to find a quiet space where you will be undisturbed for an hour. You can lie down or sit up as long as you are comfortable. Take a few moments to take some deep cleansing breaths to center yourself.
I encourage my clients to set an intention for their session, to welcome Reiki energy and to be open to healing on all levels. You can also set a specific intention for instance, to welcome in confidence or joy, to release stress or to heal a particular health issue or just for some peace of mind.
During a session
You may start feeling different sensations during a Distance Reiki session. Warmth, tingling, and pulsing sensations are common, as is falling asleep. You may also experience seeing colors or images. Unless you have booked your session to coincide with your bedtime, I recommend setting an alarm for after a session to avoid over sleeping.
After your session
Reiki healing will continue to flow and work through you for 24 hours. Clients often report feeling relaxed, refreshed, calm, or just sleepy after their session. You may also experience other symptoms like headaches, joint pain, nausea, unusual fatigue, insomnia, congestion, strong emotions, irritability, muscle cramps, aches and pains and other cold/flu like symptoms. These detox like symptoms are perfectly normal & temporary, a reaction the body undergoes in preparation for the healing process to work and eliminate the body of toxins, impurities and imbalances.
I encourage my clients to practice good self-care after your session by drinking plenty of water, eating healthy and taking time to rest.
I also encourage my clients to write down any experiences they had, during and after a session.
